Employee Spotlight is our blog series that features the fantastic individuals behind RoadSync.
Get to know a face that works to introduce our products to new customers. Meet Kahlil Payton, one of our Commercial Account Executives! We’re excited to sit down with him to share his story in this month’s Employee Spotlight. You’ll learn about his role at RoadSync, career, interests, and more! Fun fact: if he could have one meal for the rest of his life, it would be corn.
How did you first learn about RoadSync?
I found out about RoadSync on LinkedIn. It’s not uncommon for recruiters to use this platform to reach out to candidates, but like most people, those messages get ignored. However, this time around, I decided to respond, and I quickly landed an interview with RoadSync management. From the interview alone, I felt welcomed to the company.
What are three words to describe RoadSync?
I would describe RoadSync as eventful, energetic, and supportive. We are eventful because we always have something going on. Whether it’s game night, interactive all-hands meetings, or bingo with the sales team, you can always find something to do that will give you a chance to get to know your coworkers. Also, we are very energetic. Everyone is always fired up and ready to get the job done. As a whole, RoadSync is very supportive, and it is evident when you receive feedback from the management team that it is put in a way to help people and not tear them down.
What was RoadSync’s key selling feature to you?
I was drawn to RoadSync because I didn’t have previous experience working within a startup. I wanted to challenge myself to work in a fast-paced environment with high expectations.
What are your hobbies ?
Some of my hobbies include working out at the gym, trading crypto, sports bidding, and playing video games on the PS5. I am also into anything that can give me a challenge mentally. I am a problem solver; I love puzzles, riddles, and brain teasers.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose?
If I could live anywhere, I would have to choose Egypt. I have always loved the culture, and it has been a place that I have always wanted to visit.
What advice do you have for prospective RoadSync employees?
The best advice that I can give to anyone is to be open-minded. Talking to customers in our industry is a unique experience. You will be better off coming in with an attitude of wanting to grow and increase your skills rather than a know-it-all attitude.
Thank you for taking the time to meet Kahlil Payton, our Commercial Account Executive!
