Simplifying the Driver Experience

RoadSync is in the business of automating routine expenses that truck drivers face while delivering a load along with streamlining the transaction from the broker/carrier all the way to the warehouse.

Every time a trucker picks up a load, it’s like they’re going on a business trip. They have to pay for heavy duty truck repairs, towing, parking, truck washes and unloading fees at warehouse facilities– which all adds up!

“All of those things traditionally have been very paper-based and kind of difficult for them to complete the transactions because these vendors that support the ecosystem don’t really have a point of sale that allows them to easily invoice and take payments from truckers,” RoadSync CEO Robin Gregg told PYMNTS.

As a result, the customer is frequently placed in a waiting game of phone calls, lost receipts, and other aggravations. In an effort to further streamline expenses drivers face, RoadSync, just introduced a direct payment option that reduces the burden on drivers by letting the broker/carrier set up a payment directly to a warehouse merchant. The end-to-end solution increases efficiency for drivers by 75% via payment automation, reducing the number of steps drivers need take and creating a quick and simple transaction.

With the company’s extensive network of vendors already using its platform to accept real-time payments, RoadSync also makes the process easier for brokers and carriers allowing them take control of the payment, prevent fraud and make it easier for drivers to work with them.

“They just want their drivers to show up at a facility and be able to complete a payment, and they want to be able to have visibility over that payment and be able to authorize it if one of their truckers came to a facility that required unloading fees,” Gregg said. “So that’s what we did.”

Simple Payments and Accessible Funds

With the new direct payment solution, RoadSync plugged its spend management platform into its mobile point of sale platform.

Now, when drivers go into a RoadSync Checkout Merchant location, they simply need to provide their cellphone number — the system will recognize whether they have a  pre-approved payment from their broker/carrier using RoadSync Advance and will let them complete the payment  with a click. Then, all that information and the receipt go directly back to the person who paid on the driver’s behalf.

“We think it makes it really, really easy for drivers to complete payment quickly,” Gregg said. “It reduces the steps when they’re at a vendor location.”

Benefits in Today’s Supply Chain

RoadSync continues to make payment solutions easier, faster, and more accessible, giving those across the logistics supply chain the ability to pay and accept payments based on industry standard payment methods.

RoadSync Checkout is the perfect solution for merchants who want an easy way to accept payments and capture data. And with RoadSync Advance,  brokers or carriers can easily issue payments to their drivers while also tracking receipts and gaining visibility into what’s going on.

“It’s a benefit to both sides,,” Gregg said.

And with today’s challenges in the supply chain, it’s even more compelling for the players in the trucking industry to make every efficiency improvement as well as make it as easy as possible for drivers to work with those across the supply chain

Making it “easy to get funds, not getting stuck waiting for a payment, getting paid faster yourself — all of those things are wonderful ways to engage and get the best drivers,” Gregg said.

RoadSync’s platform and enhancements provide the tools needed to help its customers be more efficient in today’s environment.
